Cemetery in Zdzięciole

Cemetery with Polish gravestone monuments. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography).
According to Anna Lewkowska, Jacek Lewkowski and Wojciech Walczak, the Roman Catholic cemetery has a roughly rectangular plan and a 1.6 ha area surrounded by a wooden fence. An Orthodox cemetery adjoins it on the western side. It was established in the first half of the 19th century. The oldest gravestones are located around the brick chapel, built in 1813. One of the oldest gravestones, from the 1st half of the 19th century, has the form of a brick column on a plinth with an inscription plaque. The inscription reads: "Here rest / FAMILIES WITH SON / KAZIMIERZ MARYANNA / KALIKST / APAROWICZIE / PROSECUTE FOR 3 HEALTHY MARY". Noteworthy is the inscription: 'BURAK GABRYJEL / Ż. 70 L. DIED. 28 X 1856 / MURDERED / BY KAROL / KASZKA / PAM. FROM THE FAMILY /". As the aforementioned authors report, "the murderer rests a short distance from the grave of his victim." The cemetery is maintained in good condition.
