Dachau Concentration Camp Cemetery

The forest cemetery in Dachau (Bavaria) holds the bodies of 1,268 prisoners of Dachau Concentration Camp who died after the camp was liberated by the US Army on 29 April 1945. Also buried in the cemetery are Polish soldiers serving in American guard units and Jewish prisoners of Flossenbürg Concentration Camp who died during the death march to Dachau at the end of April 1945. A total of 375 Polish citizens are buried in the cemetery.
In 2020-2021, the Polish-German Reconciliation Foundation, within the framework of a task subsidised by the Ministerial Programme "Sites of National Remembrance Abroad", compiled data on the buried persons and made it available, together with a description of the cemetery, on the website of the project "Polish Memorials and War Graves in Germany": https://polskiegroby.pl/cmentarz.php?jez=pl&cmentarzok=463&miejsceok=618&landok=2.
