Manor house and sepulchral chapel of the Tarnowski family in Sniatynka

The brick manor house in Sniatynka was built in the second half of the 19th century on the order of Stanisław Tarnowski, the then owner of the village. It now serves as the local school.

The Tarnowski family burial chapel is located in the cemetery in Sniatynka. The brick building was erected in 1898. It has survived to the present day in practically intact condition. Even such details as the door lock fittings stylised as Leliwa, the coat of arms of the Tarnowski family, have been preserved. Inside the chapel there is a small altar with a crucifix, tabernacle and two decorative lanterns. The furnishings of the building are complemented by kneelers with hand-embroidered cushions. On the inner walls of the chapel are panels with the epitaphs of the deceased members of the Tarnowski family: Count Stanisław Tarnowski, his wife Jadwiga née Piegłowska, and their prematurely deceased children - daughter Jadwiga and son Władysław. The collection is supplemented by a tombstone plaque in memory of Helena Piegłowska, née Tarnowska. Under the floor of the chapel there is a burial crypt.

Time of construction:

2nd half of the 19th century.
