Biography:

Ferdinand Spitznagel (1760-1826), professor of botany and zoology at the High School of Lithuania, restored the botanical garden in Sorokiszki on the Vilnia River, organised and catalogued the Natural History Cabinet (awarded the gold medal ,,Merentibus" from King Stanislaw Augustus), at the same time practising as a physician, co-founder of the Vilnius Medical Society.
