Franciszka Themerson (1907-1988), born in Warsaw, daughter of Jakub Weinles and Łucja née Kaufman, artist, painter, illustrator, draughtswoman, set designer, publisher and university teacher. In 1929. Franciszka Weinles met Stefan Themerson and married him three years later. Together they formed an artistic duo, making five experimental films that became important works in the history of Polish and European avant-garde cinematography.
