Grave of the November insurgents

In 1831, after an unsuccessful attack on Vilnius, insurgents under the command of Count Karol Załuski were attacked by the Tsarist army and murdered on the meadows and hill near the Święta River. Local residents buried them at the site of their deaths, and the hill has since come to be known as Mayak or Slaughterhouse Hill. The number of the fallen insurgents has not been established. Today, a square pyramid of hewn bricks, topped with a metal sun, is erected on the mass grave, located in the forest behind the village. The author of this monument is the architect J. Kovalskis. The monument was unveiled on 20.06.1935; after the Second World War it was damaged, restored in 1989. The inscription contains only the dates: "1831 / 1935".
By the roadside in the village of Dawidziszki there is a small wooden bell on a scaffolding, underneath it there is an inscription in Lithuanian "Do not be indifferent to the history of the nation".
