Grave of a soldier of the 1st Armoured Division in the Catholic cemetery

The Catholic cemetery in Geeste contains the grave of lancer Jan Hirsh of the 1st Armoured Division, serving under the nickname Borkowski, who died after the end of the Second World War as a result of a gunshot wound. The gravestone is made of black granite and is in the form of an open book, with his name, military rank, dates of birth and death and the name of his unit. Previously, the grave had a typical isosceles cross made of sandstone (see photographs).
