Grave of a soldier of the 1st Armoured Division in the new cemetery

In the new cemetery in the Yugoslav quarters rests a soldier of the 1st Armoured Division, Cpl. Josef Siuba, who died in June 1946. On his grave is a stone cross on which the following is engraved: "Sioupa Josef *1904 † 8.6.1945".

Lingen is also the resting place of two other soldiers of the 1st DP who died after the end of the Second World War and whose graves, unfortunately, have not been preserved to the present day: in the new cemetery were buried Lt. Włodzimierz Sieniewicz, who died on 29.06.1945, and Cpl. Edmund Morgenbesser, who died on 26.10.1945, were buried in the Jewish cemetery.
