Graves of Home Army soldiers and victims of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA)

During the Second World War, fallen soldiers of the Home Army and self-defence, as well as civilians murdered by members of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, were buried in the cemetery. Only a few graves have survived to the present day. At the beginning of the 21st century, members of the Association for the Commemoration of Poles Murdered in Volhynia arranged a memorial site in the cemetery consisting of three metal crosses, set in a concrete slab and fenced with a metal chain. The largest cross bears a plaque with the inscription: "Cemetery / Roman Catholic / in Kupiczów / from 1911 to 1945 / Please pray and respect / for this place / Families and relatives". The smaller crosses bear name plates: "The late / Mieczyslaw / Wróbel / lived 21 years / died tragically / 17 July 1943 / Rest in peace" (Mieczyslaw Wróbel was the first commander of the self-defence in Zasmyki, he was shot in 1943. He was shot in 1943 by a policeman from Kowel) and "The late Leokadia Wróbel, aged 18, died tragically on 17 July 1943, rest in peace" (Leokadia was murdered by Ukrainian nationalists).
