Graves of Polish Army soldiers killed in the Polish-Bolshevik war

Buried in the Brahilov cemetery are 11 soldiers and their commander, Lt. Nikolai Gutkowski, from the 38th pp. Lvov Riflemen, killed in the battle with the Red Army at Mezyrov on 27.04.1920. The funeral was attended by a military chaplain and an equestrian troop of legionaries who brought the bodies back from the battlefield.
In 1999. The Council for the Protection of Remembrance of Struggle and Martyrdom funded the execution of a permanent commemoration of these graves. Stone plaques with the inscriptions were placed on them: "Here rests / 11 soldiers of the Polish Army / 38 pp. fallen in heavy fighting / at Mezyrov on 27 April 1920. / Honour Their Memory" and "Here rests / lieutenant Mikołaj Gutkowski / commander of the 1st bat. 38 pp. Polish Army / died a hero's death in the battle / at Mezyrov 27 April 1920. / Honour to His Memory".
