Halinka Jakubowska (1962) was born in Słubice. In 1972 she moved to Belgium. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Liege and the Akademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Brussels, where she specialised in wood and stone restoration. The latter material became one of her favourites. It is in this material that she has produced numerous sculptural works, including, among others, fountains that can be found in many cities in Belgium, some of which have received awards and prizes. Her sculptures can be seen in Italy, Turkey and the Netherlands, among others. The artist does not shy away from the Polish community in Belgium, to which she has been committed over the years. She is the author of a monument in Liege, which commemorates the Polish soldiers who died there during the First World War. For her work, she was awarded the badge 'Meritorious for Culture' by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
