Biography:

Hanul of Riga (died between 25 February 1417 and 12 December 1418), a merchant from Riga, burgher of Vilnius, of which he was governor in the period 1382-1387. In 1382, during the conflict between Vladislav II Jagiełło and Kiejstutemp, he surrendered the city to the king. Advisor to Jogaila and Skirgiełło, participated in numerous diplomatic missions. Thanks to his efforts, trade relations between Poland and Lithuania were established.
