Biography:

Ignacy Karp (1780 - 1809), son of Benedict and Karolina née Puzyn. A participant in the Kościuszko Uprising, he studied at Vilnius University in 1796. Heir to numerous estates, founded an agricultural school and hospital in Johaniškiai. In his will he exempted peasants from serfdom on his estates.
