Biography:

Ignacy Błażej Franciszek Krasicki (1735-1801), born in Dubiecko, son of Jan Bozy Krasicki and Anna Starzechowska, clergyman, poet and prose writer, leading representative of the Polish Enlightenment. Bishop of Warmia (1767), Archbishop of Gniezno and Primate of Poland (1795). Author of the first Polish novel 'Mikołaj Doświadczyński przypadki', fables, satires and heroicomic poems. Creator of the encyclopaedia "Zbiór potrzebniejszych wiadomości" ("A collection of more necessary information") (1781). Friend of King Stanisław August Poniatowski, participant of Thursday dinners. Decorated with the Order of the White Eagle and the Order of St Stanislaus. Buried in Gniezno Cathedral.
