Biography:

Ignacy Wincenty Pieńkowski (1877-1948), born in Dołubowo, son of Ludwik Pieńkowski and Wiktoria, née Władyczańska, painter and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He studied in Warsaw and Kraków, then in Paris, Munich and Rome. Between 1909 and 1913, he taught at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and from 1918 he held the chair of painting in Krakow. His painting showed links with French Post-Impressionism. Among his students were Tadeusz Kantor, Jan Cybis and Tadeusz Brzozowski.
