As part of Thursday's behind-the-scenes conversations about polonica, we invite you to a meeting, or rather a tour of former Polish Inflants....

During the last "Thursday at ease", we set off on the trail of the notes of Baron Gustav Manteuffel - a Polish historian, cultural expert and ethnologist, and patron of Polish culture. We uncovered the mysteries of the historical territory of Polish Inflants and sought to explain why it has fascinated researchers for decades. What events are associated with Inflants? What famous figures lived in Inflants and fought battles here? What important events in European history took place here?

There was also information related to the first edition of the Latvian-Polish bilingual book "Polish Inflants", published in September thanks to the cooperation of the Polish Embassy in Latvia, the National Institute of Cultural Heritage Abroad Polonika and the publishing house "Jumava".

Radosław Budzynski, historian of Polish literature and graduate of the Jagiellonian University, author of a dissertation on the distinguished historian Gustaw Manteuffel, was the guest of the meeting. He has worked as a Polish language teacher in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine. He is interested in the Polish cultural heritage in the north-eastern borderlands of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, especially in what is now Latvia.
