Jan Leon Miś, also John Lee Mish (1909-1983), Polish linguist, polyglot. Lecturer in languages of the Far East at the Eastern Institute. Before the outbreak of the Second World War, he joined the diplomatic service. After the end of the war, he emigrated to the United States, where he served as head of the Slavic
and Oriental department at the New York Public Library until 1978.
