Biography:

Jan Szczepan Otrębski (1889-1971), Polish and linguistic scholar. Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Stefan Batory University. He wrote over 300 academic works, including the three-volume Gramatyka języka litewskiego [Grammar of the Lithuanian Language], for which he received the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 1958.
