Biography:

Jerzy Him (1900-1982), born in Lodz, graphic artist, illustrator and poster designer. He studied law and religious studies, obtaining a doctorate, and then trained in graphic design in Leipzig. After working in Germany, he returned to Poland where, in duo with Jan Lewitt, he created the well-known artistic tandem "Lewitt-Him". They gained international popularity with their illustrations to Tuwim's "Locomotive". From 1937 they lived in London, where they worked with the British Ministry of Information during the war. After the break-up of the company, Him acted independently, including designing for the newly formed state of Israel.
