Biography:

Jerzy Franciszek Kawalerowicz (1922-2007), Polish film director and screenwriter. He was co-founder and first president of the Polish Filmmakers Association (1966-1978). His films include Pociąg (1959 ), Matka Joanna od Aniołów (1960 ) and Faraon (1966). Member of the Sejm of the People's Republic of Poland for the ninth term (1985-1989) on behalf of the Polish United Workers' Party.
