Biography:

Józef Potocki (1862-1922), born in Lviv, son of Alfred Potocki and Maria née Sanguszko, count, landowner, traveller, chamberlain. From 1881 to 1885, he studied law at the Franciscan University in Lviv. He inherited a huge estate from his mother, which became the basis of his activities. At the Antonines, he was responsible for extensive modernisation and expansion of the estate. He was also the author of several travel and hunting books that documented his interests and expeditions.
