Biography:

Józef Bronisław Stogowski (1899-1940), born in Toruń, ice hockey player, footballer and Olympian, three-time participant of the Games, in 1932 an ensign of the Polish Olympic team. He represented Poland in ice hockey, playing 70 games and winning European championship medals. He fought as a volunteer in the Polish-Soviet War and was awarded the Silver Cross of Virtuti Militari. He died in 1940 after a serious illness. His memory was honoured by naming the Tor-Tor ice rink after him.
