Biography:

Józefa Izabella Gruszka (Gruszkowa), died 1969 in London, a Polish émigré activist. She was active in the Military Families Circle and the City Committee for Help for the Unemployed (until 1939). After World War II, she lived in exile in Great Britain. She was a member of the authorities of the Union of Polish Women in Exile (as part of the Polish Union in Great Britain), the Society of Friends of Scouting, and the Citizens' Union of Polish Women in Exile. She was a member of the Council of the Republic of Poland of the second, third and fourth terms. She was promoted by the Polish authorities in exile to the rank of titular second lieutenant (1963). She was chairwoman of the Citizens' Union of Polish Women in Exile.
