Biography:

Justus van Egmont (1601-1674), born in Leiden, Flemish painter of the Baroque era. He was a pupil of Gaspar van den Hoecke and collaborated with Paul Rubens between 1618 and 1628, participating in some of Rubens' designs. Circa. 1628 he went to Paris, where he gained recognition as a portraitist, painting members of the royal family and aristocracy.
