Biography:

Kandyd Kozłowski (b. 1836), Polish clergyman, sculptor, painter, writer and Polish activist. Studied theology in Italy, ordained in 1863. A participant in the January Uprising, he left the country after its end. Participating in the January Uprising, he left the country after its end. In 1872, he came to the United States. He founded the parish of St Rose of Lima (pastor from 1872 to 1877). From 1877 to 1884, he was pastor of St Jack's parish in LaSalle. In 1884, he founded the parish of St. Josaphat in Chicago (pastor until 1889). From 1889, pastor of the parish of St Cyril and Methodius. His literary works include Antichrist , The Relocation of the Loretto House , Sobieski at Vienna , The Rising of 1863 .
