Biography:

Kazimierz Sierakowski (1924-2009), born in Warsaw, son of Władysław and Stanisława. He belonged to the Home Army. He took part in the Warsaw Rising. He was also a soldier in the 2nd Polish Corps in Italy. In Italy, he entered the University of Rome, where he studied architecture for two years. In 1954 he moved to London, where he continued his education at the School of Architecture of the Polish University in London. In 1955 he was granted British citizenship. He was a member of the British Institute of Architects (RIBA). He completed many projects throughout the kingdom. In 1960, on a government contract, he went to Ghana where he worked as an architect, completing projects for the Ghana National Buildings. In 1973 he emigrated to Australia. There he also realised a number of buildings, including the municipal building complex in Perth, co-authored with Tadeusz Andrzejczak, the State Art Gallery and the Perth Cultural Centre.
