Biography:

Konstanty Linowski (1807-1858), born in Tułowice near Sochaczew, son of Aleksander Linowski (1759-1820), senator-castellan of the Kingdom of Poland and minister during the Duchy of Warsaw, and Karolina Hube, formerly wife of Józef Łęski.

A student of the Faculty of Law and Administration at Warsaw University. Before the outbreak of the November Uprising, he worked at the Russian embassy in The Hague. After the outbreak of the uprising, he returned to Poland and served as adjutant in the headquarters of the Commander-in-Chief, for which he was awarded the Virtuti Militari Cross.

After the collapse of the uprising, he emigrated and joined the Belgian Army, where he reached the rank of lieutenant-colonel. Retired in the last years of his life.

Husband of Fanny Sarah Blackshaw, father of Wanda Karolina Franciszka Linowska (1841-1917), wife of Wilhelm Orsetti.

He died on 8 September 1858 in Paris at 14, rue Castiglione, and was buried on 12 September 1858 in the Maillochon crypt, reburied on 29 September 1858 in the Père-Lachaise Cemetery.
