Parish church of Our Lady of the Rosary, Venezuela. Wojciech Lutowski

Variants of the name:
Iglesia Nuestra Senora del Rosario

The main façade of the church has two wooden doors on the side of the square, leading into the interior of the church. One of the side facades faces Bolívar Street and the other facade is adjacent to the parish house. On its main façade, above the door, there is a small balcony with trellises and a wooden door. The façade is white and all the columns are painted mustard yellow. The church also has a bell tower with three windows facing Bolívar Square and two other small windows facing Bolívar Street. The temple consists of one nave and a chancel separated from the nave by an arch made of wood inside and covered with tiles outside. Behind the altar located in the chancel is the sacristy. In addition to this, there is a square-shaped baptistery with a small rectangular chapel next to it.

The walls of the church are brick, now plastered, painted white and decorated with religious figures. On the wall of the presbytery is an image of Our Lady of the Rosary from the 16th century. Above the glass altar of Our Lady is a huge image of Mercy, installed in 2015 to replace the old church cross that stood there.

These days, the facade is kept clean and painted, as are its surroundings and the vicarage. In April 2014. The mayor of Baruta carried out repairs to the church façade, and the exterior and interior walls of the church and vicarage were plastered and painted. In 2015, roof waterproofing was carried out, during which asphalt was laid on the inner roof of the presbytery, making dark spots visible.

The church was built between 1857 and 1867 and was inaugurated in 1870.
