The exact address of the church is Calle Anzoategui, 2050 Puerto Cabellol. It is located in the most historic part of the city, on Ricaurte Street next to Bolivar Square, and is a cathedral that was blessed in 1999. It is surrounded by an enclosure that was originally built using coral stones from this area of Venezuela.

A stone-built church with a tower on the façade, it is five-aisled with a nave that leads to the main altar, as well as several side aisles with chapels highlighting the Blessed Sacrament and the Lord's Tomb. Inside the cathedral you can see the painting Descent from the Cross by Rubens, as well as the sculpture of the Risen Christ, which is a wooden sculpture by Jouse Berecibar.
