Biography:

Krystyna Wojtyna-Drouet (1926), born in Warsaw, artist, creator of artistic textiles. She graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, where she studied in the studios of Prof. Eleonora Plutyńska (hand weaving) and Prof. Mieczysław Szymański (tapestry). In parallel, she developed her painting skills under the direction of Marek Włodarski. Counted among the representatives of the so-called Polish School of Artistic Textile, Krystyna Wojtyna-Drouet participated in the most important events of fibre art. She took part in the First, Fourth and Fifth International Biennale of Artistic Textile in Lausanne and numerous exhibitions around the world. Her work has been regularly presented at prestigious art reviews, gaining recognition in Poland and abroad. The artist has mastered a variety of weaving techniques, including jacquard, and specialises in dyeing materials using natural dyes such as cochineal and marzanna dye. Despite the passing of the years, Krystyna Wojtyna-Drouet remains professionally active, continuing her artistic activities.
