The quarters of Polish Army soldiers killed in the Polish-Bolshevik war

In July 1920, Polish troops fought a battle for Dubno against Budionny's advancing Bolshevik mounted army. Fierce battles for the town were fought for several days. The fallen Polish soldiers were buried, among others, on the grounds of the fort in Zahorce. On 3.06.1930, the remains of Polish soldiers were transferred and laid to rest in the cemetery in Dubna. A war quarter with a central iron cross was arranged at the new site. After World War II, the soldiers' graves were destroyed - they were built over with other graves. Only the central cross remained, which had been knocked down. In 2000. The Council for the Protection of Remembrance of Struggle and Martyrdom made a new commemoration at the site - a cross with an image of the Cross of the Order of Virtuti Militari was placed, with a plaque with an inscription below it.
