Biography:

Maciej Nowicki (1910-1950), born in Chita, Siberia. Polish architect. He studied architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology. Together with his wife Stanisława Sandecka, they were regarded as the most important draftsmen of pre-war Poland. Together they served an internship with Le Corbusier. They emigrated from the country in 1945. They settled in New York, where Nowicki took a job at the Pratt Institute. He then served as associate director of the School of Design at North Carolina State College in Raleigh. He died in a plane crash in 1950.
