Biography:

Maciej Szańkowski (1938), born in Wola Libertowska, sculptor. He graduated from the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Zakopane, where one of his teachers was Antoni Kenar. He continued his education at the Department of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under the guidance of Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz. He has participated in numerous international exhibitions and symposia, including in Austria, Switzerland and Japan, winning many awards. Since 1996, he has been a full professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
