Biography:

Magdalena Abakanowicz (1930-2017), born in Falenty, daughter of Konstanty Abakanowicz and Helena Domaszewska, Polish sculptor, creator of artistic textiles, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Gdańsk, professor at the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Poznań (currently the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Art in Poznań). She was one of the most important representatives of the so-called Polish School of Artistic Textile and one of the most outstanding sculptors of the 20th century.
