Small Radvila Palace in Vilnius

The Small Radziwill Palace, located on Vilnius Street in the Old Town of Vilnius, belonged to the Catholic line of the Radziwill family of Nesvizh. It was created in the 16th century by combining three buildings and was rebuilt in the Renaissance style, probably on the initiative of Michał Kazimierz Radziwiłł. In the 17th century, it gained a representative character with arcaded galleries. Rebuilt again after a fire in the 18th century, it still belonged to the Radziwill family.

Between 1795 and 1810, it housed the Municipal Theatre, and later flats, shops and a pharmacy functioned there. Since the 1990s, the palace has been the home of the Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema. The building combines Renaissance and Baroque features, and its courtyard is distinguished by a two-storey arcade gallery.
