Biography:

Maria Cybis née Tym (1906-1958), painter and sculptor. She was probably a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw between 1924 and 1926. Together with her husband, Bolesław Cybis, she co-created frescoes and sculptures. She participated in the teams responsible for creating frescoes for Polish pavilions at world exhibitions, including the New York exhibition. She was the author of the techniques used to create porcelain works, co-founder and co-owner of the American companies she founded with her husband, and creator of many designs and porcelain works signed with the name "Cybis".
