Biography:

Maria Kazimiera Sobieska (1695-1723), born in Warsaw, daughter of Jakub Ludwik Sobieski and Jadwiga Elżbieta Sobieska.

She was the favourite granddaughter of Queen Maria Kazimiera, who took her with her to Rome in 1698 and then to Blois, France, in 1714. After her grandmother's death in 1716, she moved to Olawa, where she lived with her parents. Initially considered as a candidate for the wife of James III Stuart, eventually her sister, Mary Clementine, married the pretender to the English throne. Sobieska was also a candidate for the wife of Francis Marie d'Este, but Emperor Charles VI forbade these efforts. She died unmarried in 1723 and was buried in Wrocław.
