Maurice Blond (born Maurice Blumenkranc, 1899-1974), painter born in Łódź. From the 1920s, he was associated with French artistic circles. Initially, he studied sciences, then began his artistic education in Warsaw and Berlin. In Paris, he joined the circle of Russian émigré artists, and from the 1930s he was an active organiser of cultural life. During the Second World War he fought in the French army and hid under the assumed name of Blond. He painted under the influence of Post-Impressionism and Expressionism. He died in France.
