Biography:

Michał Czajkowski a.k.a. Sadyk Pasha (1804-1886), independence activist, prose writer and poet. A representative of the Ukrainian school of Polish Romanticism. In the years 1841-1872, he stayed in Turkey as Head of the Agency of the Eastern Mission of the Lambert Hotel. From 1850, in Turkish service. After his resignation, he stayed for a year in Kyiv, after which he settled in Borki.
