Biography:

Moses Rozenknop (1915-2001), born in Lublin, naturalised in France on 5 May 1950 by decree No. 10172-48. Under the name Marian, he performed in the International Brigades (Franco-Belge Brigade) (www.marxists.org). After the defeat of the Republic, he and his comrades in arms from Lublin evacuated across the Pyrenees to France, where he was interned. From September 1939 to June 1940, he served in the Foreign Legion. After the defeat of France, six former Brigade participants: Misha Bronsztajn, Bolk Zygelman, Chaim Jungman, Israel Mandeltraub, Moshe Lewinson and Marian Rozenknop, the authorities of the French State imprisoned them in a camp in Djilf (Djelpa), Algeria (http://lublin.wyborcza.pl/ of 19 April 2015). Moses Rozenknop died on 5 August 2001 in Cannes (INSEE).
