On the slopes of Monte Cassino, next to the Polish War Cemetery, is the 2nd Polish Corps Memorial Museum. Efforts to create it began on the initiative of Mieczysław Rasiej, a veteran of the Battle of Monte Cassino and president of the Union of Poles in Italy, in 2007. Thanks to the support of the Polish community, Polish and Italian authorities and donors from all over the world, the official opening of the 2nd Polish Corps Memorial Museum took place on 17 May 2014, the 70th anniversary of the battle.

The museum building, designed by Pietro Rogacienia, the son of a 2nd Corps soldier, fits harmoniously into its surroundings, using local stone and simple but eloquent architecture. The interior houses an exhibition prepared by Prof. Krystyna Jaworska and Paweł Morawski, which tells the history of the 2nd Corps in three languages - Polish, Italian and English: from the deportation of Poles to Siberia, through the formation of the Anders Army, to the battles in Italy and the soldiers' post-war fate.

The museum's exhibits include soldiers' personal mementos, documents, photographs and interactive multimedia presentations. One of the moving elements is a map with marked burial places of Polish soldiers in Italy, enabling visitors to find the graves of their loved ones.
