Tombstone of Anna Solecka

Chorostków | Ukraine

Burial place marked by a statue of Immaculata on plinth and base. Figure shown frontally in slight contrapposto. Head slightly tilted to the left. Hands folded in prayer. She stands on a sphere entwined by a serpent holding an apple in its mouth. A crescent moon below. Around the head a retained mount for a halo of stars. Dressed in a long , ruffled robe. On the shoulders a mantle with exposed sheaths. The upper edges of the first step of the plinth originally decorated with lesbian kimation. The second step cuboidal, surmounted by an ovate, wider panel and hipped canopy. On the front a panel with quarter-circle chamfered corners. In it an engraved inscription.

Tu odpoczywa / Anna Sołecka / Dziewica Skoń / czyła życie dnia / 2[1] Grudnia 1854. / Przechodniu west. / chnicy do Boga / zmów Anielskie / Pozdrowien[ie] //.
