Antoni Adam Ostrasz began his international career as a research architect at the Polish Mediterranean Archaeology Station of the University of Warsaw in Cairo, where he worked from 1961 to 1966. He later took part in archaeological expeditions to Alexandria, Palmyra and Nea Paphos. Commissioned by the Syrian authorities in Palmyra, he prepared restoration projects for recently destroyed monuments. He then continued his architectural research in Fustat and later joined the 'Jarash Archaeological Project', where he was involved in the study and restoration of the Umayyad House and the Bishop Marianos Church. In 1984, the Department of Antiquities of Jordan appointed him as the permanent director of the Hippodrome Restoration Project in Jarash, where he spent the last fourteen years of his life. Anthony Ostrash died suddenly on 9 October 1996 in Amman.
