Gravestone of Emilia Michalak

Kociubińce | Ukraine

Burial site marked by a statue of the Virgin Mary on a two-stepped plinth and base. The statue of Our Lady with her hair spread and bare feet, dressed in a long top garment to the ground. The undershirt tied at the waist with a ribbon. Hands folded in prayer. The figure obscured by a secondary tin semicircular canopy, supported by three rods attached to a metal band capturing the top of the second step of the plinth.
First step of plinth with moulded upper edges. The second step of the plinth covered by a wider profiled panel with an arched uplift on four sides. In the front protuberance a winged angel head. On the front of the second step of the pedestal an engraved frame, instead of the lower edge a carved floral garland. Inside the frame an engraved inscription.
