The burial site was originally marked by an obelisk (which lies next to the gravestone) on a two-stage base and plinth, the whole enclosed by a fence in the form of six glazed posts connected by an iron bar. The plinth is framed by moulding and glazing on the top, with an engraved inscription on the front.
