Tombstone of Karolina Piotrowska

Soborne | Ukraine

Burial place marked by a statue of St Caroline on a two-tier plinth and two-tier base. The statue on its own base. The Saint's left hand rests on her breast, her right hand lowered along her torso. She is dressed in a long robe and veil. The robe is girdled, the sleeves with decorative trimmings. First step of plinth with chamfered upper edges. The second step of the plinth ending in a simplified beam, covered by a wider panel. An engraved inscription to the front. To the right, in a panel with chamfered upper corners, the figure of a saint wearing a long robe, cloak and veil. To the left, in a similar panel, the figure of a saint with her hands folded on her chest in a prayer gesture. Dressed similarly, feet protruding from under the robe.

Bartłomiej Gutowski (kierownik projektu), dr Magdalena Olszewska dr Magdalena Tarnowska. Materiał opracowany został w formie kart ewidencyjnych obiektów zabytkowych i opublikowany w katalogu Instyttutu Polonika. Dokumentacja obejmuje wszystkie nagrobki związane z polskim dziedzictwem kulturowym (przede wszystkim rozstrzygający jest napis w języku polskim) powstałe przed 1945 rokiem.
