Tombstone of Marceli Stupnicki

Szypowce | Ukraine

Burial site marked by an obelisk on a two-tier plinth and three-tier base. Obelisk in upper part with bas-relief cross with crown of thorns, below h. Sas. The first step of the plinth with moulded upper edges. On the front an engraved inscription (1). The second step of the pedestal covered with a wider profiled panel with semicircular peaks to the front and back and with acroterions. To the front in a moulded panel a plaque with an engraved inscription (2).

(1) Wielu potrzebnych […] chlebem / Niech Ci Bóg […] wynagrodzi niebem //.
(2) MARCELI STUPNICKI / WŁAŚCICIEL DÓBR SZYPOWCE / * 1829 † 3 września 1879 / przeznaczywszy cały majątek na / cele dobroczynne //.

Right next to Marceli Stupnicki's gravestone is a monument in the form of a cast-iron cross on a two-stepped pedestal and base. Unfortunately, no inscription has survived on it. It cannot be ruled out that this gravestone also commemorates a member of the Stupnicki family
