Tombstone of Marian and Sophie Myslicki

Chorostków | Ukraine

Burial place marked by cross framed by figures of St Peter and St Paul. Straight cross on plinth. At the intersection of the arms a relief figure of Christ. At his feet a skull. Above the titulus with the inscription: [IN]RI. The arms of the cross terminate in a strongly stylised trillium form. The effigy of St. Peter shown frontally. In his right hand he holds keys, in his left hand a book. Depicted wearing a long robe and cloak over his shoulders. Figure of St Paul with sword in right hand and book in left hand. In long robe and mantle over shoulders. First step of plinth with moulded upper edges. Second step cuboidal. On the front a panel with chamfered corners, in which is an engraved inscription. On the sides and back panels with quarter-circle chamfered corners. Above, a small cornice all around. The whole is crowned with a wider, profiled panel. Content of the inscription.
