Tombstone of Maximilian Wohlfelld

Zaleszczyki | Ukraine
Burial place marked by a figure of an angel extinguishing a torch on a plinth. Figure on its own base. Angel supported by an upturned torch covered with draped cloth. Plinth covered by a wider moulded panel. To the front and rear a panel, in which are red sandstone plaques with an engraved inscription. On the front an engraved inscription (1). On the back an engraved inscription (2).

Inscription:

(1) MAXEMILIAN / WOHLFELLD / GEWESENER [KK] POST- MEISTER / GESTORBEN AM 27= JANUAR / 1848 //.
(2) Die hinter lasene / Wittwe und Kinder ihren / unvergeszlichen Gatten / und Fater //.

Additional information:

The statue was lost in late 2010 and early 2011. A larger fragment of it now lies in sector V, but at a considerable distance from the gravestone. The plaque from the back panel lies next to the gravestone.
