Tombstone of Onufry Szczawiński

Chorostków | Ukraine

Burial place marked by a statue of Saint Onufry on a plinth and base. Hermit with long beard and hair, in kneeling posture with hands folded in prayer. Girded at the hips with a band.

The plinth is covered with a moulded panel with chamfered upper edges. On the front an engraved frame with quarter-circle chamfered corners. Inside an engraved inscription.

Inscription:

Onufry / Szczawiński / Zył Lat 70. zaKoń / czył Zycie poboz= /nie i cnotliwie dni / 8 Sierp: 1852 R(u) / Dzieci Wdzięczne /Oycu ku wieczney /pamiątce ten / nadgroek / wziniesli //.
